Bird’s The Word

just a day before my friend Justine left for her first ultra marathon, and two days before I left for skiing in Deer Valley, we went for a trail run. I don’t think either of us anticipated that it might be our last buddy run for a while. And what I most definitely didn’t anticipate was getting my period smack 1 mile into a trail run in the middle of the woods. But here we are all are, in a quarantine, amidst an election, with a president who thinks we’ll all be in church by Easter. So I guess everything is possible. I hope everyone is staying well and safe. And I hope this can bring a little laugh in the middle of what seems like an entirely new world out of Margaret Atwood book.

Thank you Oiselle, Sally & Brenda and Dr. Lesko for creating a platform that allows us to celebrate the sisterhood and for creating shorts that allow us to stock our goods. And thank you Lauren Fleshman, whose writing session I attended this summer at Bird Camp - my work finally came through months later in the form of this.

Oiselle’s warehouse operations had to shut down due to mandatory Seattle restrictions. If you were planning to shop for some spring shorts this month, please consider purchasing something from their site, and being delightfully surprised when it ships once they’re back up and running1! the pocket joggers are a favorite (size down), and i love the extra long length for the bike short-and-blazer lewk. xx SGK
